Tenant improvements for a 650 Sq. Ft. shopping center food court space. The client wanted the unimproved space transformed into a cafe/bakery specializing in fresh baked goods prepared and baked on the premises, sandwiches, coffees, soft drinks, and a variety of gift baskets. The program requirements dictated an open kitchen and serving counter with display areas for both pastries and sample gift baskets. The shopping center, called Stonestown Galleria, is located near San Francisco, CA.
The design intention was to create an upbeat image that would be eye catching in the visually complex food court without overwhelming the display of the product. Transparent display materials and soft colors with occasional accents were used to provide a backdrop for product display. Constructed forms point out prep areas in the display kitchen and are intended to emphasize the process for producing menu items. Year completed: 1988
